This Week At Chuck’s, December 17th

Hoppy Holidays hop shoppers!

It’s that time of the month finally.  You know, when holiday shopping begins to wind-down.  Wait, that’s a fantasy?  Oops.  Well that’s probably a good thing, because not only do we have Santa Claus coming into the shop on Tuesday, but a few very special beers that are excellent as last minute gifts for that extra important beer drinker in your life.

While you may have just missed the bourbon-barrel aged barley-wine Mother of All Storms from Pelican Brewing, we also just got in Fremont’s bourbon-barrel aged Abominable Winter ale, affectionately known as B-Bomb.  Hale’s Ales’ seasonal barrel-aged Wee Heavy is also at the store in 12oz bottles for a very limited time, in addition to 750ml bottles of Big Sky’s spiced Belgian dark-ale Biere De Noël.  If your special someone enjoys something a bit more on the tart side, Cascade’s  excellent Blueberry Sour just arrived, and for someone who has a sense of humor, only Rogue’s Voodoo Doughnut Maple-Bacon Ale in it’s trademark pink bottle will do.

UPDATE: We also finally got our shipment of Firestone Walker’s 16th Anniversary Ale, a Barrel-Aged American Strong ale ringing in at 13% and created by blending some of their most famous beers together.

In other news:

  • Meet Santa – Jolly old Saint Nick is arriving at Chuck’s tomorrow!  He and his crew of elves will be in the tap room awaiting your patronage beginning at 4pm, and for only $7 you will be able to preserve photo evidence that Santa was indeed with your child, dog, or spouse–in a beer store.  This was a hit last year, so we’re having Caravan Crepes cater for the event while you wait for your chance to get a memory framed in card-stock.
  • Food Truck Warm Up – We just wanted to let everyone know that the food truck schedule is a little mixed up this week.  Santa Claus Tuesday will feature Caravan Crepes, while on Wednesday Streetzeria will be back to their normal catering slot, and Thursday we’ll be hosting Haitian food truck Boungu Kenken.  Friday we will begin a series of food truck auditions since we have an open spot, with this week’s highlight being the spicy yakisoba-pan chef at Diablo Food Truckz.  His main feature is a $6 sandwich made typically with a French baguette, hot ramen, beef or chicken teriyaki, cabbage, and one of a number of hot hot HOT sauces.  Saturday and Sunday will follow up with Where Ya At Matt, the Fish Basket, and the Seattle Biscuit Co.

See you with Santa!
